Texture Coordinate Details

Unwrap of the face area. A subset of the unwrap shown below done after selecting
the necessary polys. As the mapping coordinates still go from 0 to 1 the unwrap
is actually the same size as the one below but this one here has been cropped.
Then the map tiling is adjusted to accomodate the cropping. It is useful to crop
to easily dividable numbers, for ex. 1400 pixels to 1000 for an 1.4 factor.

For optimum texture usage, only this area will be textured with highres maps:

Initial Unwrap. There's no overlap:

Cleaned UV distribution (some stretching is unavoidable):

Top view: Leaving the back of the head open avoids vertical 0/1 coordinates intersecting with vertices:
